The Louisiana Association of Family & Consumer Sciences is an affiliate of the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences.   The membership consists of professionals with a degree in an area of family and consumer sciences and university students in pursuit of a degree in the field.

Our Services
We serve as a resource for family & consumer sciences professionals (FACS)  who want to connect with others in the field.  In addition, we serve as a resource for information concerning many aspects of family life.
 

Calendar of Events

February 2009 - Officer Elections

  • The 2009 LAFCS officer elections will be for the following positions:  President-Elect, VP of Annual Meeting and VP of Public Relations. 
  • The president-elect is an officer requiring one year of service as president-elect, and moving on to president in the next year.  As immediate past-present, this member serves as chair of the nominating committee and bylaws committee. 
  • The VP of Annual Meeting typically resides in the district where the annual meeting is being held.  The 2010 annual meeting will be in the Northern District.  There is one nomination, Lori Myers, for this office.
  • The VP of Public Relations serves a two-year term.
  • Nominations should be submitted to Rena Jackson.
